We like straight talk here at Backside. Hence, we put together this list of necessary info for you to share with your group. Ultimately, we want you to have a great time – but you and your crew have to bring the right vibe!
The most successful trips in terms of memory making, enjoyment and light-hearted escapes from day to day work or school are the ones that bring the funny. A great way to ensure everyone gets into the mood conducive to a good time is to set a theme for your ski trip. Themes make people laugh, allow people to loosen up, and ensure conversations are started between strangers . Be sure to review our Bus Theme Blog for some ideas.
No kegs allowed. Pressure + cold + shaking = dangerous. Moreso, this is about overconsumption. As an organizer and the person who obtained the liquor license, it is important you make sure your crew parties responsibly. Overconsumption can result in poor behaviour, puke, and a terrible time for those people on the bus. We all should work together to mitigate heavy drinking, poor decisions and bad behaviour. On our trips, the guides can remove anyone they want at any time for above reasons, and as the organizer, you will be responsible for any fallout. Keep your shenanigans positive.
Space is limited, and besides what more do you need than ski/board gear, costume for theme, sexy underwear, Nalgene bottle, and two change of clothes? That should all fit in a sandwich bag, right?
Aren’t pugs adorable? Seriously though, use of illegal drugs is each individual’s choice in this world, but on our/or any bus company's ski trips, they are strictly prohibited. If anyone ever gets caught on a trip with hard/chemical drugs, they will be removed them immediately and authorities will be notified.
Ensure you show up with a smile and carry it with you the entire weekend. These trips are made for people to unwind and enjoy themselves, so leave the stress from your day to day life behind you, and if someone steps on your foot, offer them a cold, frothy beverage and a hearty handshake hello. Meet new people and perhaps share that smile with them. We are positive they will return it to you.
When our groups invade ski hotels, we have to remember there are other people wanting to have an enjoyable weekend too. Hence, when 11pm hits, close your doors, turn down your music, close your windows or balconies, and get ready to ride in the morning. Besides, if you make too much noise, you get to pay for the room next to you that you kept up all night!
Our guides, the bus driver and the hotel staff are all there for your safety and enjoyment. Let them deal with issues and leave you stress free. Make sure to treat them well, because any mis-treatment may result in your removal from the trip. Besides, they are some of the best people we know, and if you hit it off with em, they may ask us if you can join our team!
No glass, don’t over consume in the heat, and remember it can be very slippery outside the tub. Hence, play safe, watch your step, try to keep noise down for other guests, and enjoy one of the best experiences you can have - mountain tub’in.
Bottom line, we at Backside have a lot of strategies to offer you are valued (and rock star-esque) organizer, so make sure to ask us about how we can make this trip an epic adventure! And when the wheels on the bus start to turn, sit back and enjoy the experience you helped create!
