SKI TRIPS - BEFORE YOU GO
Backside Staff • Nov 12, 2016

It's almost time for your ski trip! You should be totally stoked! We, at Backside Tours are always full on giddy when it comes to ski trip time, and with all the things we have going on each week in our personal and public lives, we want to make sure we don't miss anything important so we can make sure this trip will be wonderful! So to assist you, our weekend snow warriors, here is a list of things to help you be ready for your departure!

  • Pack Lite - You are not heading out on a month long excursion to Europe! This is a single ski weekend, so one bag is plenty.
  • Consolidate Coolers with Others - If you are staying in a condo and want to bring a cooler, please connect with your fellow travelers and condense your items into one cooler. Space is limited when it comes to bus storage.
  • Plan for a 4 to 9 hour Bus Ride (Depending on destination & road conditions) - Be prepared, bring water, have some snacks, and maybe a book or form of entertainment. Best to be ready for what the ride throws at you.
  • Don't forget your costume - Chances are if you are riding with Backside (or another operator), your organizer is so rad, they have organized a bus theme. Thus, it is your time to take the theme to the next level so don't let your fellow travelers down. Be the costume.
  • Prep Equipment - Dust off the boards and skis, make sure all straps are intact, wax your board/skis for current weather conditions, and make sure all your gear is ready and in working order.
  • Check Your Itinerary - Check your itinerary online (its there!) or ask your organizer for time frames you should know about. And most of all, be on time, because if you are late, you may get left behind!
  • Bring a Bathing Suit - Almost every ski/snowboard destination hotel has a swimming pool or hot tub, so bring your swim clothes, because no one wants to be in a pool/hot tub with someone in their underwear or birthday suit. We call this hot tub safety.
  • No Glass - Glass can break and be a major hazard. Plastic, nalgene bottles or cans only please. This goes for bus ride or anywhere near hot tub or pools as well.
  • STAY IN BOUNDS - Remember to have this point tattooed on your body somewhere to make sure you remember it. Resorts have boundaries for a reason, and it is so very important not to put your life or someone elses life in danger by ducking ropes. We at Backside always stay in bounds at resorts, and we care about getting you home safe. So before you leave your home, remember to bring this thought with you!

We can't wait to have you travel with us, and we will be super excited to greet you on the bus, or at the hill as one of us! A prepared, passionate, snow slider!
